We understand those who have the, “I can do anything” attitude, but we also understand the importance of having a professional install your new furnace or air conditioner. We’re sure you can do just about anything but trust us when we say, leave the HVAC to us. An improperly installed air conditioner can lead to an increase in your energy bill of up to 30%! It can also void out any type of warranty that may have been on the unit, leaving you with costly repairs.

First, if you end up with an improperly sized unit, you will not be comfortable. Each system is sized specifically to condition a specified amount of space. A larger system does not mean higher efficiency. In that situation, your space would be cooled too quick for the system to have time to pull the humidity out of the air. This will leave you with a cold, clammy, humid home. If the size of your old unit is in question, our comfort consultant will do a load calculation while out at your home to give you an estimate on your new system.

When professional HVAC installers are replacing a system, they are also taking note of and altering any issues involving the duct work. In many cases, ducts become loose over time for various reasons. This causes a loss in air flow. I don’t know anyone who wants to pay extra on their energy bill to condition their attic or crawl space. Our installers are trained to eliminate such issues.

An improperly installed system can cause the system to fail prematurely. By replacing your own air conditioner, you could also be harming the environment. Depending on the age of your system, it may contain a harmful gas referred to as R-22, which is being phased out by the EPA. Our installers have recovery machines that hold that gas. If you were to replace your system and didn’t have this machine, you’d likely be releasing it into our atmosphere. This is a huge problem. Every bit of R-22 released aids in the growth of the holes in our zone layer.
