If a contractor gives you a firm price on repairs or replacement without looking at your system first, be weary. A reputable company will only give you a solid price AFTER diagnosing your equipment. The reason for this is that there are many variables involved when pricing out repairs or replacement. You could have an extremely easy application which would drive costs down or you may have an extremely complicated application which would cause repair time to increase thus making for a more expensive repair.
